What is UPPER LEVEL basketball?

UPPER LEVEL basketball is a league for individuals with special-needs* ages 8 & older. We provide a safe, family friendly environment for individuals to play without the fear of ridicule or exclusion. The families enjoy watching their loved one compete at their ability level. Players attend one night a week for 6 weeks. Practices and games take place during the same time each week. The season concludes with a family dinner and awards ceremony.

*For this league, special-needs is defined as a person who is in a self-contained class in the public school system OR receiving special services through adult development disabilities programs OR who requires adaptive devices to be mobile.

  1. Registration Fee:
  • $25 fee if players need a red/white reversible jersey
  • $15 fee if players already have a red/white jersey
   2.  We'll have 3 divisions: (we will combine children and youth if necessary; we'll strive to have a maximum of 8 players per team)
  • 4 teams in the Children's division (ages 8-14 years old)
  • 4 teams in the Youth division (ages 15-17 years old)
  • 8 teams in the Adult division (ages 18 and older)

  • Team Leaders: assigned to a team for the season; provides overall supervision of & interaction with the players and their partners; 12-16 minimum required
  • Player Partners: assigned to a player for the season; assists the player in developing basketball skills & playing the game; (Children can help here as well!) 24 minimum required
  • ​Administrative/Court Staff: help with keeping score, court set-up/transitioning, snacks, etc. 8-10 required
