"How can we not offer this to our community?"
That was my reply to our Fitness Director Amy Johnson when she presented Rock Steady Boxing (RSB) to me in the spring of 2018. Hearing how God had been speaking to her for several years, having prayed for opportunities to reach target groups we were not yet ministering to, and finally, watching the video testimonies of those who have Parkinson's and have decided to fight back moved us to the point that this was something we had to do. God was moving and inviting us to join Him.
We have experienced so many blessings through RSB! Just being around the Boxers and their families is a blessing! We have witnessed God exchanging
balance for instability
strength for weakness
courage for fear
companionship for loneliness
joy for sadness
light for darkness
hope for despair
a future for uncertainty
What a joy to be on this journey with our hard-working, fun-loving Boxers, our loving, dedicated Volunteers, and our amazing God! - Wallace
